On September 10, 2008, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) called a press conference, in Washington, D.C., at the National Press Club. Joining him at the event were Cynthia McKinney (Green Party), Pastor Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party) and Ralph Nader (Independent Party). All three are candidates for president on Third Party tickets. Rep. Paul submitted four areas of agreement, The Principles, on which the three candidates, and also Bob Barr (Libertarian Party), who wasn't present, have come together on in a display of unity for the good of the Republic. The four-point Principles deal with bringing the U.S. troops home; protecting our civil liberties, investigating the Federal Reserve and balancing the federal budget. Rep. Paul labeled the current presidential election process, which is dominated by the rigged Two-Party System, a charade. He charged that there is no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. The Congressman from Texas underscored that over 60 percent of the American people are unhappy with the current nominees of the Two Party System, aka, the Duopoly. As a result, the voters will eventually end up, he said, casting their ballots for the lesser of the two evils.
